Interior Secretary Salazar Visits King Center, MLK Park
On May 27th Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar visited The King Center and the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site. Secretary Salazar visited the exhibits in the Site’s Visitors Center, Ebenezer Baptist Church Heritage Sanctuary, Dr. King’s birth home and Dr. and Mrs. King’s crypt.
King Estate Announces Movie Deal With Dreamworks and Book Deal With Beacon Press
Los Angeles, CA (May 19, 2009)-DreamWorks Studios has acquired the life rights to civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. from The King Estates it was announced today by Stacey Snider, CEO and Co-Chairman of DreamWorks Studios. Steven Spielberg, Suzanna de Passes and Madison Jones will produce the bio-pic of Martin Luther King, Jr.

King Center Nonviolence Training Program Prepares Youth
ATLANTA… The King Center, in partnership with LaFayette & Associates, conducted a “Nonviolence Training of Trainers” program for Atlanta metro high school students at the Martin Luther King, Jr. High School in Lithonia, Georgia on Saturday, April 25, 2009. The 1-day program was part of the core nonviolence education initiative central to The King Center’s mission.
