Aristotle's Answer to Parmenides Parmenides thought that becoming involves the arising of something out of nothing, and asked how, in these circumstances, becoming can be possible. Aristotle answered the question by formulating the inner the becoming does involve passage from absolute nothing to absolute being, but from potential being to actual being.
