God (Jer) 9:23. Here man is urged not to glory in his might or riches, but he should glory in the fact the [that] he understands and knows God. The passage that man is capable of knowings and understanding. [Page 2] God. The Biblical God is not the "Wholly Other" who can not be known by man. This emphasis of modern theology can find little support in the Old Testament. [Crossed out: The] The Old Testament God as the transcendent God, but [Page 3] never so transcendent that he cant be the known. His immanence is stressed along side his transcendence.
