[Page 1] 204 Hamlin Road Buffalo, N. Y. [New York] 14208 November 11, 1967 Dear M[artin] L[uther] I was in Kleinhans Auditorium in Buffalo when you spoke Nov[ember] 9th. I came to renew an acquaintance with an old friend. Oh, I know the address would be an excellent presentation that I didn't give a second thought. What I didn't know was that I would [Underlined: feel] the presence of a great yet humble man. This can come only with honesty, integrity, and a deep abiding faith in God who [Underlined: must] direct your thoughts and energies. My only regret was that my 13 yr [year] old and 10 yr [year] old children were not present. [Page 2] They would have been made aware of the vitality of life and of their worth as human beings. Your message needed to have been heard in Buffalo. We are a city without a Martin Luther King to educate our community, and to keep us from being complacent; and to remind us that we still have a long way to go. It is urgent that you come back! Your schedule is pressing, we realize, but we sincerely offer our home to you and your family when you come to Buffalo again. You may use it for rest, relaxation, privacy or whatever.
