His failure to take revelation seriously creates all kinds of perplexity for the students of his system. It gives rise to the accusation that for him theology is less concerned with God then with man's consciousness of God. 2. However he staked everything on the person of Jesus Jesus, here, in seen as the Divine reservoir of power which can rouse and vivify the God-consciousness already present. He is a liberator of the God-consciousness which remains qualitatively the same in man at every stage.
