Theme: Whatever a man consider his highest value determines his attitudes, thought patterns and actions. It determines the very structure of his life. Ultimately a man's life is determined by what he looks upon as most important. I. If bodily [existence?][Underlined: bodily existence] is considered the highest value one will lack courage and militancy (afraid to speak out). II. Popularity may be conceived as the highest value. In this case anything that prevent it is pushed aside. III. Material goods may be conceived as the highest value. Here the ind [individual] seeks to get them at any cost. IV. God may be conceived as the highest value. This is the true end of life.
