[Underlined: Monothesism] Not until we came to the 2nd finish (6th, [infinite?], century) do we find [monothesism?] clearly stated (Ss 40:6-20; 45:5,7, 11 f., 14, 16, 18, 46: 1-10) The prophets before Second Isaiah did not have a time monothesism, but it was an implicit one. They held a conception of God that logically implied monothesism though they were not themselves fully aware of the implication. It was a practical rather than a theoretical monothesism.
