Schleiermacher In his second Discourse, Sch[leiermacher] discuses the nature of religion. He argues that it is not the knowledge of principles and doctrines, nor is it the action after the commandments of mortality; but it is an immediate, ? intention and a feeling? of the Universe? and the is the most universal and highest form of religion.
