The Civil Rights Act of 1965 provides us with many opportunities which we intend fully to utilize. Negroes in recent years have set standards for the whole nation in their fearless pursuit of democratic rights. In the days to come they will seek an exemplary role as informed, vigilant, and responsible members of the electorate. What we have won in blood, toil and sacrifice we will not squander in apathetic complacency.
