Sin I Chronicles 21:1 - Here it is affirmed that Satan incited David to take a census of Israel. Another account affirms that the Lord was the Lord [Card 2] 2 that bid David to take a census. The significant thing at this point, however, is that it was considered a sin to number the people. It is [Card 3] 3 somewhat difficult to determine the exact cause for this abhorence toward census taking. It may be that the offspring and growth of a people [Card 4] 4 was considered a sacred mystery which man was to never delve in.
