Suffering Psalms 119:71 - "It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn thy statutes." Here the punishment seems to be saying that it was only in afflication that he [inserted number: 2] learned the ways of the Lord. We must admit that suffering is oftentimes disciplinary. Some of the most profound truths are revealed to us in moments of afflications. However, we are [inserted number: 3] not to conclude that all suffering is disciplinary, for if it were its purpose is often defeated.
